Chrysanthemum flower - Also known as its Chinese name Ju Hua, flower has a sweet, bitter and slightly cold properties. It is most commonly used for clearing colds accompanied by fever and headaches. It can also be used on its own to help strengthen the eyes of conditions such as read, painful and dry eyes, blurred vision and spots in front of the eyes. It has a calming effect and can help with dizziness and headaches caused by tension. Part used: flowers harvested in full bloom. Cinnamon - is used for spirituality, healing and cleansing Cleavers - Also known as goose grass, clivers, hayriffe, burweed or goosebill, cleavers is an excellent tonic for the lymphatic system, and so is used for swollen glands, tonsillitis and glandular fever. It is often combined with such herbs as poke root and marigold. It can also benefit the skin, has a long history of use for tumors and ulcers and may be helpful for painful urinary infections like cystitis. Echinacea - Also known as purple coneflower, Kansas snakeroot, comb flower, black Susan, hedgehog and Sampson root. The Native Americans have employed this extremely useful herb for generations to help clear microbial infections, both bacterial and viral, and boost the immune system. It is widely used and combines well with many other herbs, being effective for respiratory tract infections, cystitis, catarrhal conditions, acne, and infected cuts or wounds. It has a reputation as a natural antibiotic with none of the unfortunate side effects of antibiotic drugs; historically it has also been used to treat rattlesnake bites. Part used: Root Elecampane - the common name of this herb is said to be a distortion of its Latin title. It is also know as elfwort, sabwort, elfdock, or horseheal. While it is generally cultivated in Britain, the plant grows wild in parts of North America. It soothes coughs, clears catarrh, and has an anti-bacterial action, making it effective for asthma, bronchitis, chest infections or ven emphysema.
